Cherry Dreadnought-17
Old Growth Sinker Redwood / Figured American Cherry
Click here for YouTube Videos of this guitar

This unique dreadnought has a very striking top of old growth sinker redwood. This wood is from a log that was salvaged from a Pacific Northwest River bottom after having sunk in the late 1800's. As a result of more than a century soaking in this mineral-rich water, this wood not only exhibits a beautiful deep brown-red appearance, but it also produces a wonderful sound with rich and complex overtones and bright treble frequencies reminiscent of spruce.

The guitar has back and sides of American cherry, a Katalox fingerboard (pronounced "cat-ah-losh", a dense, hard wood from Mexico that is similar to ebony), East Indian rosewood bridge, bloodwood bindings, an African ebony headplate, and a unique black granite, and birdseye maple rosette. This guitar exhibits a very balanced tonal spectrum with a rich bass, a clear mid-range, and bright treble tones.

This guitar was donated to
Mercy Connections for their 2019 May Luncheon silent auction. It was bid on and sold with all proceeds going to Mercy Connections.

Redwood/Mango OO-15

Sinker Redwood / Curly Spalted Mango

Click here for YouTube Videos of this guitar

This is an amazing and unique, OO style acoustic guitar. The guitar has a striking back and sides of curly spalted mango from Hawaii, and a top of sinker old growth redwood. This redwood came from a log that was cut in the mid 1800's in Oregon and subsequently sunk while being floated down the Big River to the saw mill. 135 years later the logs were salvaged from the river bottom. As a result of more than a century in the mineral-rich water of Big River, this redwood is not only an excellent tone wood, it is also extraordinarily beautiful, with its tight grain and unusual variegated shades. This is a great sounding OO guitar with excellent volume and sustain for it's small size, with a balanced, clear tone.

This guitar was donated to Mercy Connections for their 2018 May Luncheon silent auction. It was bid on and sold with all proceeds going to Mercy Connections.

DR-7
Sitka Spruce / Honduras Mahogany

Click here for YouTube Videos of this guitar

The dreadnought DR-7 is from the third generation series of Wicklund guitars. It was built in 2007 with the intention of being a demo guitar. The guitar served this purpose very well for 10 years but was sitting in the case more than it was being played. Recently the decision was made that the guitar needed to put on the market to be enjoyed and played -- and also make space in the shop for the new guitars currently being built.

The guitar has back and sides of Honduras Mahogany and an old Sitka Spruce top that had been aging in the shop for over 20 years. This is a great sounding dreadnought with excellent volume and presence and a rich, but not boomy bass, balanced with clear mids and trebles
