No Risk Purchase Policy
Purchasing a handmade guitar online, without ever seeing, playing, or hearing it in person is not the ideal way of buying a new guitar. Since Wicklund Guitars are not currently available in any guitar shops, the only way to experience a Wicklund Guitar in person is to actually visit my shop in Vermont. If you are interested in one of my guitars and live within driving distance of central Vermont or are looking for an excuse to visit Vermont, I would encourage you to stop by for a visit to check out what I have available. If this is not an option for you, I have a no-risk policy for purchasing my guitars online from this website.
How to Purchase
If you decide to purchase a guitar from the website, please contact me via my Contact page and include a note telling me which guitar you would like, and your contact information and address. Or you can call me direct at 802-498-4191, and we can discuss your purchase, your playing style, the kind of music you like, and any preferences you may have on set-up. Before a guitar leaves my shop I check the neck relief and action at the 1st and 12th fret, install new strings, and make any adjustments that are needed based on your personal preferences. For payment, I accept personal checks, or you can pay with a credit card or bank transfer through PayPal, which is the fastest way to get your guitar. I ship via either UPS ground or USPS Priority Mail, depending on your preference and/or where you live. Shipping costs will be added to the final invoice. Once your payment has cleared, I will ship within 2 business days. That gives me time to set up the guitar and get it packed. The guitar will be shipped in a double box with foam padding and include a pre-paid return shipping label -- I like to reuse my shipping boxes and packing material and not have them end up in a land fill. This packaging helps assure that the guitar will arrive to you in the same condition it left my shop. Upon receipt of the guitar, you will have 3 days to decide if it meets your expectations in craftsmanship, appearance, playability, and most importantly, sound. If you decide to keep the guitar, all you have to do is put the return label on the shipping box -- make sure you include all of the packing material -- and call the shipper to have it picked up.
If for any reason you decide that you do not want the guitar after the three day trial period, all you need to do is to pack it up in the shipping box like it was when it arrived, put on the return label, and call the shipper to have it picked up. Once I receive the guitar, and it is in the same condition as when it left my shop, I will refund the full purchase price including the shipping. If there is any damage to the guitar while it was in your possession such as cracks, nicks, pick scratches, belt buckle scratches, etc., I will contact you and describe the damages and estimated cost for restoring the guitar back to new condition. I will deduct the restoration costs from your refund.
Warranty
Every Wicklund Guitar is warranted to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship for my life as an active luthier. This warranty does not cover damage due to normal wear and tear, abuse, neglect, extremes of temperature or humidity, or natural disaster. Periodic maintenance is the responsibility of the owner and is a condition of the warranty. A guitar humidifier and instructions are included with the purchase of each instrument; its proper use is the responsibility of the owner.
